How page numbering works
FileKit draws page numbers as text on top of each PDF page using Helvetica. Use 'Start at page' to skip a cover page (e.g. start at page 2), and 'Start number' to begin counting from any number — useful for chapters or appendices. The format and position are exactly what you'll see in the output. All processing runs in your browser.
How to Add Page Numbers to a PDF
- 1
Upload your PDF
Drag and drop your PDF file. FileKit reads it locally without uploading anywhere.
- 2
Configure numbering
Choose the position (top or bottom, left, center, or right), starting number, and format. Optionally skip the first page for title pages.
- 3
Preview and download
FileKit stamps page numbers onto every page (or your selected range) and produces a new PDF ready to download.
