How image resizing works

FileKit loads your image in the browser, then redraws it onto a Canvas element at the new dimensions using high-quality bicubic interpolation. For JPG inputs, you can control the output compression quality. For PNG inputs, the output is lossless PNG. The aspect ratio lock ensures your image does not get distorted. Everything runs locally — your images never leave your device.

How to Resize an Image

  1. 1

    Upload an image

Drag and drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, or other image file. The tool reads the original dimensions and displays them.

  2. 2

    Set new dimensions

Enter exact pixel values or switch to percentage mode. The aspect ratio lock prevents distortion — disable it if you need non-proportional sizing.

  3. 3

    Download the resized image

Click resize to process the image in your browser. The result is ready to download immediately.
