Our Mission

FileKit was built with a simple idea: file tools should be free, fast, and private. Too many online tools require uploading your files to unknown servers, creating accounts, or paying subscriptions for basic operations like compressing a PDF or converting an image. We believe these everyday tasks should be accessible to everyone without compromising privacy.

Privacy by Design

Every FileKit tool processes your files entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to any server — they never even leave your device. This makes FileKit safe for sensitive documents like contracts, medical records, financial statements, and personal photos. We don't see your files, we don't store your files, and we can't access your files. Period.

What We Offer

FileKit provides 23 free tools for working with PDFs and images. From compressing and merging PDFs to converting image formats and extracting text with OCR — all processing happens locally in your browser. No software installation required, works on any device with a modern browser.

How It Works

FileKit is built with modern web technologies including Next.js, pdf-lib, pdf.js, Tesseract.js (WebAssembly OCR), and the Canvas API. These technologies enable powerful file processing directly in the browser without any server-side computation. The result is faster processing (no upload/download wait), complete privacy, and zero cost.
