How PNG to JPG conversion works
PNG uses lossless compression, which preserves every pixel perfectly — but files can be very large. JPG uses lossy compression to dramatically reduce file size while keeping images visually sharp. FileKit decodes each PNG using your browser's built-in image engine, then re-encodes the pixels as a JPG at your chosen quality level. Transparency in PNG images is filled with a white background. The entire process runs locally — your images never leave your device.
